Angus Cloud of ‘Euphoria’ died

Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau Confirms Accidental Drug Overdose as Cause of Angus Cloud’s Death

Angus Cloud, renowned for his role in the hit series “Euphoria,” tragically passed away due to an accidental drug overdose, according to the Alameda County Coroner’s Bureau, who disclosed this information on Thursday.

The 25-year-old actor succumbed to a lethal combination of substances, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and benzodiazepines, as confirmed by the coroner’s office during a recent conversation with NBC News. Angus Cloud met his untimely demise at his family residence in Oakland, California, back in July.

In the wake of his passing, Cloud’s family had previously indicated that the young actor had been grappling with the profound loss of his father. Their initial statement following his death made reference to Angus Cloud’s ongoing mental health challenges.

Last month, his mother, Lisa, offered further clarity by stating that she did not believe her son had intended to take his own life. She shared poignant insights into his final moments through a statement on Facebook.

“His struggles were real,” she wrote. “He gave and received so much love and support from his community. His work in ‘Euphoria’ served as a beacon for his generation, sparking important conversations about compassion, loyalty, acceptance, and love.”

On the night of his passing, Cloud and his mother discussed his intentions to provide financial support to her and his sisters following his father’s demise. She recounted their final interaction, where she embraced her son and he assured her, “he would see me in the morning.”

Angus Cloud’s passing profoundly shocked both his colleagues in the entertainment industry and his devoted fanbase. His magnetic charisma and comedic talent in the public eye stood in stark contrast to the tragic circumstances of his death. Discovered on the streets, Cloud rapidly became a beloved figure on the HBO teen drama series for his portrayal of Fezco.

Fezco, a teenage drug dealer with a heart of gold, cared for his grandmother and took on the role of a guardian for his young adoptive brother, Ashtray. Cloud’s ability to inject humor into the show’s darker themes, a signature of “Euphoria,” was complemented by his compelling dramatic performances.

Audiences felt deeply connected to the strong relationships his character developed on the show. One storyline that generated much excitement in the series’ second season was the budding romantic connection between Cloud’s character and Maude Apatow’s character, Lexi.

As Cloud engaged in more interviews, fans began to notice the merging of his own demeanor with Fezco’s mannerisms. In a conversation with Variety last year, he acknowledged the mental toll of portraying the typically stoic character, saying, “I’m a pretty easygoing, goofy guy, but Fezco doesn’t laugh or smile too much.”
